Story

I first created the Raven Skull design after being inspired by silver jewellery featuring the Helm of Awe. I wanted to take that kind of dark and detailed jewellery design and recreate it entirely in wood, using my own carving techniques and approach.

For this version, I chose the Vegvísir, a symbol traditionally associated with guidance and finding one's way. Combined with the raven skull, it became a piece about direction, inner strength and moving forward even when the path ahead is unknown. The raven itself adds another layer to the design, becoming a symbol of curiosity, transformation and facing what lies beyond the familiar.

As with the Helm of Awe version, I leave its meaning open to the person who wears it. For me, the Vegvísir is about having something that reminds you of your direction, while accepting that the path itself may change.

Over time, the Raven Skull became one of the most recognizable designs in my work, and I keep returning to it through different symbols, woods and interpretations.

About My Carvings

Each pendant is carved individually from a carefully selected piece of wood using hand carving tools. The natural grain, colour and small variations make every carving different from the next, so no two pieces can ever be exactly alike.

Each piece is designed to be light and comfortable to wear, and can also become a meaningful gift, whether for someone special or simply for yourself.

Each pendant comes in a Woodzard gift box with my logo, ready to be worn or gifted.
