About me
I Am Patryk, born in Poland, I moved with my family to Italy. I live since already 20 years in a small and peaceful town located in region of Sicily.
This little town seen on a hill between two rivers surrounded by mountains, rich of woods and pastures is a perfect place for me to get inspired in this beautiful nature. Especially seeing some shepherd while was sitting looking at his flock and at the same time whittling a piece of wood by a knife . Such views, were impressed in my mind from my childhood or younger age, and I only realized that recently, my love for the wood.
After high school, in 2007, instead of continuing to study, preferring manual activities than intellectual, I found my first job in a restaurant as waiter. After years of several work experiences , god or bad, my thought was to change my life wanting to do something more satisfying. After trying many hobbies, with the hope of realizing something stable in my future, in early 2016 I found out more about the amazing world of carving wood. Watching a lot of YouTube videos , I purchased my first set of cheaper carving tools.
As small knives and chisels, it was not possible to carve some bigger sculptures, then I thought ,why not trying give “life” to a little piece of wood “, so my first attempts of creating something by wood, were pendants, as at the same time I have found some artist who carved wooden jewelry which their work inspired me a lot.
For a few of next years, any free moment I had, I spent carving a lot of pieces of jewelry, that started to be visible worldwide, through my first online shop on a marketplace. Having more and more positive reactions, my desire was to show these unique pieces of wood that were made with love, to more people, through the social media, and wanting to learn more about , by making a lot of mistakes and spoiling some pieces , trying to “getting out from my comfort zone “. Beginning of the Covid was definitely a sign for me, of spending full time to carving jewelry, giving me possibility to improve my skills even more, increasing my business and not back to my previous job as waiter.
There are more than thousand of unique pieces of wooden jewelry made in Sicily, carved by Woodzard. Some need just some hour of work, and some until a few days, depending my inspiration about what I decide to make at the moment.

My mission
As the community of the wood carving world is growing more day by day, with many people who is starting to appreciate the work of this beautiful and natural material, and the handmade art. My mission is to propose only the high quality of my products, from fallen wood, that needs some years before being ready for work. Natural finishing like organic oils that I apply to each of my creations. Every work made by my hands using knives, may have some imperfections, that makes it the unique one of a kind that can not be never reproduced the same one.
I create many kind of jewelry about different topics that especially are animals, floral, mythological like Celtic and Norse, from different cultures and different kinds of wood. I work mostly local wood that I can collect from the ground, like walnut, olive and some good for carving fruits wood of beautiful textures, like plum or mulberry. I am open minded to realize a personalized piece that suits perfectly for you, based on your preferences and your tastes.
